Your visual field is the total area in which objects can be seen in the central and peripheral (side) of your vision while you focus your eye(s) on a central point.
There are a number of techniques and instruments that can be used to examine your visual fields. These include:
The Confrontation visual field exam (For you gross visual field)
and automated perimetry (especially to examine your dentral visual field)
This examination shows whether you have a loss of vision anywhere in your visual field, and the pattern of loss helps us determine the possible cause.
